Today's the day I've been waiting for (and also dreading) for a long time! The day I get a new vehicle! I've been looking forward to it because I've never really "loved" the car I've had for the past (nearly) 7 years, a Dodge SX 2.0 aka Neon. (dreading it because we will have monthly car payments and increased insurance rates once again.)

The SX was pretty much the only thing I could afford at the time I bought it. Although, not the best car, she has served me well. She's taken me all sorts of places and gotten me there in one piece! She's also not had too many issues (besides wheel problems) until this past summer when everything seemed to go at once. My hunny and I just could not fathom putting any more money into it to keep it on the road. Being that we only have one vehicle, keeping it on the road is a must. We were to find out little over a month ago that the engine is on the outs and it would be in our best interest to replace it... that is if we wanted to keep it. Um... not worth it!

So, a couple of weeks ago, off we went to the Chrysler dealership to look at vehicles that are in our budget range... which isn't a whole lot. We also were hoping for something bigger than the SX, which shouldn't be too difficult. Thankfully we found the Jeep Patriot fit our needs AND it looks pretty cool too. We're picking her up in little over two hours from now, and I'm pretty damned excited. *Almost* as excited as when I bought my VW Beetle! I've never really thought much about "wanting" to own a Jeep... but am admittedly even a bit excited about becoming a first-time "Jeepster." My Dad will be proud - he's been one for 20 or so years now. LOL
